Nurture Peace Now
Nurture Peace Now
Let us lay the weapons of war in museums,
and raise monuments to peace.
Let us praise the brave hearts who rise in our defense,
but never glorify the war itself.
Let us speak plainly:
war is an atrocity against civilization,
an abomination,
a failure of leadership,
a crime against humanity.
There is no greatness in war—
only the silence of the dead,
only the ruins of what once was.
Every death is a wound upon the world,
a fracture in the soul of humankind,
a loss that can never be made whole.
Each time I see the word *war* written or spoken,
I hear the echo of a lie—
a justification for violence that can never be justified.
We must learn to live in peace—
with all living things,
with the fragile web of life that cradles us,
and most of all,
with our brothers and sisters.
If we fail,
if we continue down this road of ruin and fire,
we will vanish in the blink of an eye.
This is not a sermon but a truth of science:
all living systems seek balance,
a rhythm,
an equilibrium.
War is the great disruptor.
It tears the fabric of life itself.
The vast, breathing being we call *Gaia*
will restore her balance—
either by ending our reckless ways,
or by ending us.
So let us turn from destruction to creation.
Let us nurture peace,
before the silence becomes eternal.
